Abstract

It has been said and written about the role of the creativity of folk poets of the last century in the spiritual life of our people. However, due to the Soviet regime our literature has become more one-sided and politically motivated in many cases. Since some folk poets from different parts of our country and their works remain in the shade of celebrities, we have no detail on fundamental research has been conducted about them and no detail if their works have been introduced into scientific circulation. Abdigali Sariev is one of such unique folk poets.

Abdygali Sariyev, a disciple of honourable Suyunbay and a pupil of Zhambyl was one of the most popular folk poets who attracted the attention and love of people with his fiery verses. He memorized and learned by heart the enlightened heroic songs, oriental tales, aitys by Suyunbai and folk legends, proverbs, sayings, riddles that performed by open-minded and ingenuous poets of Ekey tribe. As an adult, he was close to Zhambyl, followed his poetic art, focused on his advices.
